Charter & Scrolls (etc.) I have painted &/or designed (newest to oldest... more or less...)
I began painting charters after being cajoled into it one day in 2007, for the reign of TH Savaric & Safiye of Tir Righ. Having worked as Scenic Painter and Scenic Artist in the FIlm/TV/Theatre industry, and as I was a painting (and printmaking) major at Fine Arts school (Kwantlen Polytechnic University), charter painting wasn’t a great stretch for me. However using gouache as a new medium, and working on a MUCH smaller scale than I was used to, was a bit of a challenge at first. Now, I LOVE charter painting. I find it relaxing and rewarding, and I enjoy watching my small works of art being awarded to happy recipients.
I've only JUST begun delving into the world of period techniques (ie: whitework etc.) and have not tried using period pigment etc. as yet. At this time I am content painting charters freely and as I wish to.

The FIRST Silver Wing of Tir Righ, given by THs Savaric & Dalla to HL Arianna Freemont and HL Cyneric Bearson. Design by HL Jadwiga Radomyski Painting and Calligraphy by Me.
This illuminated scroll & lewas part of a gift for Viscountess Natal'ia for her Laurel Vigil, along with a Russian folk song I recorded especially for her. I couldn't attend so I sent this instead. It is sepia ink on tea-stained velum, painted in gouache, designed by me based on elements from several Russian illuminated scrolls from period (mostly 12thCen). The musical notation is based on Kievan medieval musical notation (other than the error I made).
This illuminated scroll was part of a gift for Viscountess Natal'ia for her Laurel Vigil. I wasn't able to attend the event so I sent a letter of congratulations (in Russian), along with a Russian folk song I recorded especially for her. Sepia ink & gouache on velum, designed by me based on elements from several Russian illuminated scrolls from period (mostly 12thCen). This was part of a fundraiser for Tir Righ and was my first foray into "period" painting styles... and is what ultimately got me into charter painting. 2006 ... And yes, it is a BUST of my bust... part of a series of busts from around Tir Righ.
Commissioned by THs Ulfgar & Renee, this was my FIRST Scroll design, deliberately done in a storybook style as the recipient was an infant at the time. (2009?) This award is now called a "Silver Sparkes"
A Keystone of Lions Gate, commissioned by Baron Uilliam & Baroness Caitrina of Lions Gate. This charter was designed & calligraphed by Miles FitzHubert... HOWEVER it was just a blank arch and pillars... So I drew in all the geometric details and painted it in shiny, shiny gold tones because it made me happier...
